You may have heard it said that counseling cannot put food on your table. I heard this in my training. I have heard it in my practice. For a long time, I also believed it and I almost got paralyzed!
I decided to take a pill of my own medicine, I sought counsel with the Wonderful Counselor.
I confirmed that the harvest is still plenty but the laborers are few. Just what I wrote on the importance of mental health care in the world today.
A laborer is the one who goes to the field to gather and bring in the harvest. Without the laborer’s initiative, the harvest will continue to rot in the field. Then everyone will be hungry and mental health will continue unabated.
The Wonderful Counselor showed me how the world does business better that the people of the Kingdom. The world is so generous with its products and services and will give them for free until the recipients cannot do without them. In the words of Rosalynn Carter;
“A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.”
What has that got to do with counseling? I am glad you asked.
Our Trauma healing groups have helped me to create awareness for my counseling services. All my clients have been participants in one healing group or another. Healing group facilitation is a great tool for creating rapport with a client.
Another benefit of healing group facilitation is that those who participate proceed to join formal training in counseling at certificate or diploma levels. Our formal training is affordable, credible and convenient at your local training centers.
Trained counselors are equipped with this effective tool to create rapport with the clients at their local community level. As you may already know, in helping, you also grow. Through our training program, I have seen counselors who believed like me that counseling cannot feed them rise from grass to grace.
Why not start your own healing and supervision journey today?
